





The architecture is attempting to mimic the circulation pattern to that of a tree canopy. Changing the planes of movement through the building, with the levels acting as branches reaching for greater and lower heights.

The ground plane is being designed through programming and subtraction to allow the architecture to be active through out different times, creating a better engagement of the surrounding context.

This is an architectural interpretation of the design template to feather the buildings aesthetic within the canopy of the surrounding Botanical Gardens. The notion of the building is mimicking the typology of a tree canopy.

The site has been interpreted as having two points of engagement. The urban edge and the feathering of The Botanics. The design motif is to activate the North Terrace perimeter, provide entrance from the West and feather the North and East edge.

In order to connect the surrounding Botanics with the urban landscape of the hotel, a proposed canopy walk that acts as a linking bridge, creating a new experiential plane to engage with the tree canopy, from an alternate perspective.
